FMC Partner Cawaco RC&D Council is moving!

Cawaco RC&D Council has been a part of the Five Mile Creek Partnership from the beginning. For many years Cawaco has partnered and has been co-located  with the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham.  Cawaco has outgrown the office space in the Young and Vann Building and will continue their partnership from across town. Cawaco RC&D Council will relocate to the Magnolia Office Park on Birmingham’s southside beginning March 1st, 2012. www.cawco.org       The new office address is:

A Blueprint for Greenways in the Heart of Alabama

The Blueprint for Greenways in the Heart of Alabama was completed in December 2011 through funding from the Building Communities program at the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham.  The Blueprint for Greenways is a manual for implementation of Greenway Plans Using Five Mile Creek Greenway as an example. Brookside Greenway Festival 2011

Outdoor Festival with archery, DCNR pellet gun safety, duck race, horseback riding, ATV safety, Fun Run with prizes, desserts from St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, music, DCNR fishing pole casting, canoe rides, food vendors with carnival food – funnel cakes and all.
