Fish Survey Newfound Creek

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management has listed Newfound Creek, a major tributary to Five Mile Creek, as impaired due to siltation.  The cause is listed a urban runoff and storm sewers. The area of concern is 2.76 miles long between the old Du Pont impoundment and the confluence of Newfound Creek and Five Mile Creek in Brookside.  The stream use classification is rated for Fish and Wildlife. First listed in 1998, data were taken in 1986 and 2002. They expect to complete a TMDL in 2014. The Assessment Unit number is AL03160111-0405-101.
